Blog #5 4/17/22 : Easter Sunday, Cornhole and Good times
This past week was not filled with any cornhole tournaments, league nights or blind draws. Just spending quality time with family and friends while giving them a taste of my cornhole addiction. To throwing on Friday with my cousin to just hangout and drink beer to hosting Easter at our house while getting my family involved with cornhole was a great success. Coming from a competitive family it felt great to see them get into the game and get pumped up when they make a bag or two. It really helped get the competitive juices flowing while making some side bets to make things more interesting. But the real thrill came this Easter Sunday. After not having the whole family come together the last few years because of covid. It felt like normalcy has finally settled in again when My wife and I were finally able to see our family getting together again for Easter. While entering the party and saying hi to everybody the first thing my aunt ask is, “ hey where your boards at! We’ve been wanting to play!”. Without hesitation and only living 5 minutes from the party I quickly departed to my house picked up my boards with some of my mess around bags and headed back to the party. While brining out the boards and setting up I see my moms uncle come up to me to start asking questions about the game. Being new to the game i gave him a quick rundown of the games and rules. I gave them some time to throw around and get the hang of it so I went to go grab a plate of bbq. I look back my family was already starting a game forming teams and talking smack after the first round. It was great just seeing everybody enjoying the game so much and having everybody participate for some bragging rights. It was definitely the hit of the party. I did see some future cornhole players in the family with them wanting to keep throwing and asking where the next tournaments were at really put a smile on my face knowing I just made some future cornhole addicts. Just seeing how much the game can bring a family together and get everybody to compete no matter your age or size is the reason why I started it in the first place. It was a great weekend and an even better Easter Sunday! This next week will be our official opening of the online store and my BYOP event on Wednesday. Nervous and excited at the same time it will be an eventful week and hopefully we will be able to give y’all more products and content in the future! Thanks for the read and Happy Easter Sunday to everybody!
